Smartcard

Smartcards are issued at meetings where electronic polls or handset meetings are being conducted.

Once a shareholder or member has been authenticated against their account, the assistant will insert a smartcard into a reader that updates the onboard chip.

A green screen will confirm that the transaction has completed.

The smartcard is then inserted into the device and, depending on the configuration, can display the participants name and voting entitlement.

Cards can be identified with stickers or be kept anonymous. All the information is held within the chip which can be overwritten to allow the card to be re-used.
